ISLAMABAD: Zardari House here is the venue where Iftar Diplomacy is currently being used jointly by PPPP-Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
After breaking the fast, a meeting of opposition leaders will take place with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in the chair. Leaders are of the view that people of Pakistan had rejected the augmentation of oil and gas prices. Not content with NAB’s operations, they hold that the Bureau’s measures were vindictive.
Those who are participating in the meeting include, Asif Ali Zardari, Maryam Nawaz and her team (consisting of husband Captain Safdar, Pervaiz Rasheed, Shahid Khakan Abbasi, Hamza Shahbaz…), Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman JUI-F), PPPP’s Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Raza Rabbani, Sherry Rehman, Khursheed Shah, Yousuf Raza Gilani, (JI’s) Liaqat Baloch & his team, Farhatullah Babar, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Nayyar Bukhari, Ayaz Sadiq, Mian Iftikhar Hussain (ANP), Ali Wazir (PTM) & Mohsin Dawar…
This is the first formal meeting between the Bilawal and Maryam. Interestingly, parents of PPP-P’s Bilawal (Benazir Bhutto) and PML-N’s Maryam (Nawaz Sharif) were at daggers drawn as political rivals. Meanwhile, PTI took to the twitter saying that the political heirs of the so-called democratic parties that ironically follow the failed practices of monarchs and think of themselves as bearers of some ‘royal bloodline’ are joining hands today, once again exposing their hypocrisy.
Pundits at the helm of affairs, who are keenly observing the developments, are of the view that the meeting is meant to figure out a way to mobilize masses against PTI government after Eid-ul-Fitr. Many believe that the goal of the Iftar Diplomacy is basically to pressurize the government to be lenient against Zardari and Nawaz.

SC upholds ban on recruitment in PIA
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has ordered the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to submit a petition seeking withdrawal of another SC decision on regularisation of contract employees in Karachi.
The move by apex court came after PIA counsel Naeem Bukhari sought permission for recruitment in the airline in today’s hearing. On March 31, 2018, the apex court had placed a ban on new recruitment in the airline.
The counsel argued that the SC’s Karachi registry had ordered the PIA administration to regularise all the airline’s contract employees in Karachi. He contended that the SC’s earlier order on ban on recruitment refrained the airline from executing its latter order to regularise the employees.
Justice Ijazul Ahsan remarked that the PIA had already inducted much more employees than it requires.
