ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples’ Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz have joined hands against the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government and agreed to send it packing for the sake of the country and nation.
The move came during a meeting between PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif here today.
Both the leaders decided not to support Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s anti-government march.
“We won’t allow anyone to use religion card for personal interests. Anti-government march should be only against the [Pakistan Tehreek–Insaf] government, not against the country,” said Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.
Shehbaz and Bilawal also approved to summon an All Parties’ Conference (APC) soon.
The meeting was attended by PPP leaders including Yousaf Raza Gillani, Nayyar Bukhari, Sherry Rehman, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Naveed Qamar and Mustafa Nawaz Khokar, whereas PML-N leaders included Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Rana Tanveer, Amir Muqam and Marriyum Aurangzeb.
Deputy Chairman Senate Saleem Mandviwalla and Farhatullah Babar were also part of the meeting.
