ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur Tuesday said that the present government is committed for the development and welfare of the people of Tribal people.
The government is taking all possible measures to provide health and education facilities to the people of tribal areas, he said in an interview.
The tribal areas have geographical importance and the sacrifices of tribal people for the country are no more hidden, he added.
He further explained , the government announced a package of 100 billion rupees annually to be spent on the development in these areas.
The announced package will eliminate the sense of deprivation of the tribal people, minister said, adding, the incumbent government also launched Insaf Sehat programme that has also been extended to tribal areas.
After the merger, people will have their local representatives in assemblies as well, he highlighted.
This would be helpful in utilization of allocated budget for these areas through their own elected representatives, Ali Amin added.
Minister assured that all the problems faced by tribal people will be solved on priority basis.
