President for early completion of Karachi Green Line project

KARACHI: President Dr. Arif Alvi Monday called for early completion of Green Line Bus project in Karachi, saying the provision of basic facilities to the people of Quaid’s city was among top priorities of the government.
The president said this during a briefing on federal government’s ongoing development projects in Sindh, given by Sindh Infrastructure Development Company, a statement issued by the president’s media office said. Governor Sindh Imran Ismail was also present.
The president said Green Line project was of great importance for regular travelers in Karachi. He said Karachi was country’s economic hub.  The president also directed for the completion of flyovers on Manghopir Road, Nishter Road and Sher Shah Suri Road under federal government’s Karachi Package by September this year.
He asked the authorities concerned to supply newly inducted firefighting equipment to Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE) areas by collaboration between Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and SITE Associations for their effective utilization during any fire incident. The president urged to augment the pace of work on all new development projects announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
