PTI leader terms youths as a great asset of country

GUJRANWALA: PTI leader Chaudhry Siddique Mehr said here on Friday that youth can be turned into great assets of Prime Minister Imran Khan and his party by assigning them new responsibilities towards progress and development in the country.

The leader was addressing at Union Council-I meeting in an Iftar party arranged by former General Councilor Abid Jindr in the area.

He said the government would handed over new responsibilities to youth for development of the country.

He added PTI govt will deliver new responsibilities to young generation to make them more strong at District and division level for upcoming local body election.

“Call APC or take to streets, you won’t get NRO”, PM Khan to opposition

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan, while chairing a meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s parliamentary party here today, has said that no one would get National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).

“Opposition parties won’t get NRO whether they arrange All Parties Conference (APC) or run any movement,” he said, adding that no one has directly approached for reconciliation formula.

Khan further directed all the members to ensure their presence for budget approval session.

Meanwhile, the members discussed strategy for the approval of budget for fiscal year 2019-2020. They also deliberated on handling the anti-government movement launched by opposition parties.

Khan had also approved to establish a Steering Committee, which will be headed by Advisor on Establishment Shahzad Arbab and Advisor on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood. Secretary Commerce, Chairman FBR, Chairman SECP, Chairman Board of Investment, President FPCCI, Presidents of Chambers of Commerce of Lahore, Karachi and Faisalabad as well as representatives of Pakistan Business Council will be part of the committee.

PTI govt steering economy towards stability: Farrukh Habib

ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Secretary for Railways and Member National Assembly of Pakistan Tehreek I Insaf (PTI) Farrukh Habib Saturday said his government was steering the economy towards stability and through budgetary measures would protect vulnerable segments of society and give loans to unemployed youth.

Taking part in the budget debate, he said the incumbent government allocated Rs 47 billion for the sector of education.

He said there was a time in Pakistan when dams were built and Pakistan International Airlines helped create other international airlines.

Pakistan had deposits of copper and coal and had huge potential to promote tourism, he observed.

He said the former rulers bought flats in foreign countries, laundered money and built factories.

Farrukh said before Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf formed government, the foreign exchange reserves had dropped from US $ 18 to US $ 9 billion.

He said a former prime minister paid tax of Rs 5000 in a year. The last government increased sales tax from 16 percent to 17 percent, he added.

The Parliamentary Secretary criticized the opposition for saying that it would not let the government pass the budget.

He said the PMLN government increased the budget of Prime Minister House to Rs 1.17 billion while PTI government cut the budget to Rs 750 million.

Imran Khan was determined to put the economy on the right track and break the begging bowl, he said adding, Special Economic Zone would be set up in Faisalabad, which was exporting goods worth six billion dollar.

He said new projects would be initiated in Faisalabad for protection of environment and provision of drinking water.

The previous government damaged the textile sector while PTI brought uniformity in the gas rates for industries in the provinces to boost the textile sector, he said adding, exporters should be refunded taxes paid by them.

Red carpet welcome for Emir of Qatar as he arrives in Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani reached Pakistan today on a two-day visit.

The Emir’s jet landed on the Nur Khan Airbase Chaklala, Rawalpindi in the evening.

Qatari Emir is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising key ministers and senior officials.

According to the Foreign Office, the visiting dignitary will hold talks with PM Imran and will also have a meeting with President Dr Arif Alvi.

The two sides will discuss ways and means of building a robust and mutually beneficial economic partnership.

During the visit, Pakistan and Qatar will sign several MoUs to enhance bilateral cooperation in different areas.
