FAISALABAD: The Jhang Bazaar police have registered a case against a local Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf office-bearer and two other persons on the allegation of raping a bank employee.
In an application to police, the girl’s father alleged that his daughter had told him about a week ago that a PTI office-bearer and his two accomplices had grabbed her objectionable pictures after intoxicating her and then raped her through blackmail.
He said his daughter was an employee of a private bank of which the prime suspect is an account holder. He said the perpetrator had demanded the hand of his daughter in marriage and committed the crime on the family’s refusal.
“The suspect started blackmailing us by calling on our residential landline number and hurled life threats and said he would kidnap my children.
On Friday last, we visited his outhouse to request him to spare us the agony but he called his gunmen and kept us in the illegal confinement,” he said.
He also alleged that the PTI man tortured him for half an hour and grabbed his bicycle.
Police registered a case under section 376 of PPC.
Denying the allegations, the suspect told the media that the applicant and his daughter were blackmailing him.
