PTI set to resign from NA on 11th April?

ISLAMABAD: Former information minister Ch Fawad Hussain took to the Twitter to state: “PTI has decided to resign from the assemblies, this process will start from the National Assembly after the election of the Prime Minister tomorrow”. 

He said that if nomination papers of PML-N’s  Sehbaz Sharif were not rejected despite his party’s objections, PTI lawmakers would resign from the NA on Monday (11th of April, 2022).

Ch Fawad Hussain informed the Media here on Sunday (10th of April, 2022) that a meeting of PTI’s CEC was held at former PM Imran Khan’s house in Bani Gala to ponder over the state of affairs.

CEC after deliberations suggested if PTI’s objections on Shehbaz Sharif’s nomination papers were not addressed they should resign on Monday (11th of April, 2022).

It is pertinent to mention here that the National Assembly of Pakistan has stated by means of Twitter on Sunday (10th of April 2022) that the time for submission of nomination papers for the election of PM/Leader of the House in NA was 2 pm while by 3 pm the scrutiny of nomination papers would be done.

According to details PML-N’s President Shehbaz Sharif and PTI’s Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s nomination papers for the top slot have been accepted. The election for the new Prime Minister is scheduled to be held at 2 pm on Monday (11th of April, 2022).

National Assembly of Pakistan Tweeted: “Nomination papers of Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Shah Mehmood Qureshi for the election of Leader of the House / Prime Minister accepted. Nomination papers were scrutinized.

“After scrutiny, nomination papers of both the candidates were accepted. The election for the Prime Minister / Leader of the House in the National Assembly will take place tomorrow at 2 pm.”

Commenting on the development PML-N’s Ayaz Sadiq, who chaired the session during the voting on No-Confidence Motion against Imran Khan, said the issue would be handled after the resignation of the PTI members.

Ayaz Sadiq also pointed out that there was a procedure of tendering resignation and it was not that simple.
