PTI to fulfill its promises: Minister

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul on Friday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was committed to implement its manifesto and would fulfill all its promises.

In an interview, she said the country was heading towards progress and prosperity under the sincere and honest leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

PTI government was aiming to turn the country into a true welfare state and improving the lot of poor, Pakistan was set to change for good, she added.

Minister said the present government did not want to limit poverty alleviation to the financial assistance alone, but wanted a durable solution of the issue by reforming various sectors and creating job opportunities in the country.

Zartaj mentioned the climate change, looming water shortages and environmental pollution as major threats that needed to be addressed without any delay.

In a message to our Young generations, she urged the youngsters to come forward in the field of
politics.

She further said, the future of ‘Naya Pakistan’ depended on the youth and unfortunately governments in the past have not invested in the youth and done nothing to empower them.

“The youth is our asset and we will make a comprehensive policy to get benefit from this asset,” minister said.

In another question, she urged the citizens to come forward and play role to enhance forests and trees which would help control the problems of environmental pollution.

She said efforts are being made raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests.

The citizens are being encouraged to undertake efforts to organize activities involving forests and trees, such as tree planting campaigns, she added.
