PTI will start lockdown of Islamabad from November 2: Imran Khan changes date of the sit-in

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has changed the date of Islamabad Dharna from October 30 to November 2.

“The reason behind the date change is the Sunday holiday on former date which is a weekly off day in the capital,” said PTI Chairman Imran Khan while talking to the media after a meeting with senior party leaders.

Earlier, PTI chief called a party core committee meeting today (Monday) to decide the date of Islamabad protest.

PTI could not agree on a date to close the federal capital since the party’s decision-makers decided to change the date of its protest.

Senior party leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Jahangir Khan Tareen attended the meeting to hash out the essentials details regarding the Islamabad protest, which Imran Khan termed as the most critical phase in the ongoing campaign against Nawaz Sharif-led government ever since Panama Leaks came to the fore.

Imran Khan has already clarified that this time, the siege of the federal capital would continue until the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
