LAHORE: The Water Management Department will complete an additional 50 percent cementing work on 200 watercourses in 100 days, said a spokesman for the Punjab Agriculture Department here on Saturday.
He said that before the start of cementing work, it would be ensured that the water channel had been rectified. Farmers would purchase items themselves which would be used in the construction of water channels and the Punjab government would give toCementing of 200 watercourses to be completed in the 100-day-stay cost of it.
The farmers would pay the wages of laborers and masons,
he added. Application forms in this regard could be downloaded from www.ofwm.agripunjab.gov.pk and growers could contact on 99200710 for guidance.
The spokesman said that improvement of watercourses would help save water and per acre yield of the crops would increase with the proper flow of water.
