Punjab Healthcare Commission seals 1,037 illegal labs

LAHORE: The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) sealed 1,037 illegal laboratories so far.
The PHC had taken action against all those laboratories where the minimum service delivery standards (MSDS) were not being implemented, the sources said.  Moreover, the qualified and trained staff was not employed as well.
They said 200 labs were closed in Lahore, 77 in Faisalabad, 57 in Rawalpindi while 50 each were closed
in Sargodha and Okara.
Meanwhile, around 19,900 quack outlets were also sealed while the PHC enforcement teams had visited over 46,000 treatment centers to check quack practices so far.
