KARACHI: The 75th death anniversary of father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is being observed on Monday (11th of September, 2023).
Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah got his early education from Sindh-Madrassah-t-ul-Islam here.
That was followed by a sojourn at Gokal Das Tej Primary School in Bombay and later at Christian Missionary Society High School in Karachi.
At 16 Jinnah passed the matriculation examinations and proceeded for England where he joined Lincoln’s Inn and within three years graduated as the youngest Indian to become a barrister.
He rose to prominence as a member of Indian National Congress the largest political party of the country.
Later he joined Muslim league believing that Indian Muslims should have their own state. In that year, the Muslim League, led by Jinnah, passed the Lahore Resolution, demanding a separate nation.
He worked towards establishment of the new government and making its policies. As the Pakistan’s first Governor General one of the challenges he faced was to make sure that the millions of immigrants were accommodated.
Quaid-e-Azam expired on 11th of September, 1948 at the age of 71 just over a year after Pakistan came into being.
