Quality or Quantity: Islamabad hospitals treated 53284 patients of major diseases

 

ISLAMABAD: An official of Ministry of Health Services told the local news agency that a total of 53284 patients of tuberculosis, hepatitis, cardiology, kidney and thalassemia were treated in hospitals of the federal capital from June to August 2015.

According to the official If seen separately, the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) treated 20177 patients, Federal Government Poly Clinic (FGPC) treated 18579 and Capital Development Authority Hospital treated  14528 patients.

The official said the government had taken several steps to control the diseases in the federal capital besides raising awareness among patients through health education.
The Poly Clinic Hospital was providing free of cost medicine to the patients.
The CDA Hospital had also organized health promotion and prevention sessions for patients and counseling was done to control diseases.
