Peshawar Zalmi set 118 against Quetta Gladiators in rain reduced T20

SHARJAH: Peshawar Zalmi set a target of 118 runs against Quetta Gladiators in the ninth Twenty20 match of the second Pakistan Super League (PSL) here at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday.

The match was reduced to 16 overs a side after rain interrupted twice –after the toss and later in the 13th over.

Peshawar Zalmi made 117 for three in 16 overs after being put into bat by Quetta Gladiators.

Tamim Iqbal, who has just arrived from Bangladesh, smashed an unbeaten 46-ball 62 with four sixes and as many fours. He added 75 runs with Sohaib Maqsood for the unbeaten fourth wicket stand after Peshawar Zalmi lost three top-order batsmen for 42 runs.

Sohaib scored 30 not out from 24 balls with two fours and a six a four.

Three changes were made for Peshawar Zalmi as Chris Jordan, Dawid Malan and Mohammad Asghar have been replaced by Junaid Khan, Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan, all playing for the first time in the tournament.

Quetta Gladiators made only one change, bringing in Zulfiqar Babar in place of Umar Gul.
