ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, who is currently on a visit to Iran, met the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Khamenei,
Today, he met the Advisor to Supreme Leader of Iran on International Affairs Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati and handed over a letter of President Dr. Arif Alvi for Supreme Leader of Iran. During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues relating to bilateral cooperation, enhancing economic activity through rail connectivity, border security, and regional stability. Sheikh Rashid highlighted the deep-rooted historical relations between the two countries and emphasized on enhancing bilateral relations through enhanced economic activity and rail connectivity.
Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati recalled the warm welcome accorded by people of Pakistan to Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Khamenei when he visited Pakistan in 1986 as President. He said Pakistan was a very important neighbor and Iran was committed to promoting friendly relations with Pakistan. “We should not allow any third country to damage our brotherly relations.” The federal minister thanked the Supreme Leader of Iran for his support to the cause of Kashmiri people.
