Rangeela remembered on 86th birth anniversary

ISLAMABAD: Fans of iconic Lollywood Comedian Rangeela (Muhammad Saeed Khan) remembered him at his 86th birth anniversary on Monday 1st of Jan, 2024.

Film director Altaf Hussain noted that he was one of the finest artists the Pakistan film industry ever had: “Rangeela was a director, producer, writer, actor, singer and what not.

Painting hoardings for movies was his first metier.

Then he got a chance in M J Rana’s Jutti wherein he performed tremendously well which shot him to fame in the late 50s.

Encouraged by the success of the first film, the King of Comedy he produced Diya or Toofain and sang Ga mere manwa, gata ja ray that turned out to be an enormous hit.

Under Rangeela Productions banner, he produced Meri Zindi ha Naghma, Dil aur Duniya, Du Rangeeley, Rangeela and Kubra Ashiq.

Rangeela’s career spanned over four decades during which he performed in hundreds of films.

His art earned him Pride of Performance and eleven Nigaar Awards.
