Ransacking case: 8 remanded in police custody

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday handed over eight persons, involved in the ransacking of properties during the recent protests, to police on 14-day physical remand.
Earlier, South Cantt police produced the accused before ATC Judge Sheikh Sajjad Ahmad amid strict security. The police informed the court that the accused tortured police officials, damaged vehicles, blocked roads during the protests. The court was requested to grant physical remand of the accused of investigation and recovery.
Those handed over to the police were identified as Ishtiaq,  Imran, Fayyaz, Afzal, Farhan, Jahanzaib, Danial and Majid.
