DERA BUGTI: According to unofficial results of the re-polling (held here today) received from all the twenty-nine stations of NA-259, Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP)’s candidate Shahzain Bugti won by mustering 20,895 votes up.
According to details the re-polling was held after losing candidate Tariq Mehmood Khetran accused incumbent MNA Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti of rigging the elections and challenged the results in Election Tribunal.
While the challenger Tariq Mehmood Khetran got only 198 votes, another independent candidate Khan Bugti bagged 2054 votes.
Re-polling took place till 5PM in Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Barkhan, Sibi and Lehri as Levies, police, FC and Pakistan Army personnel guarded the polling stations in order to ensure security.

ECP withdraws notification of Shah Zain Bugti as returned candidate from NA-259
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Tuesday withdrew its notification for Nawabzada Shah Zain Bugti as the returned candidate from the National Assembly constituency NA-259 Dera Bugti-cum-Kohlu-cum-Barkhan-cum-Sibi-Lehri.
According to an ECP press release, the August 7, 2018 notification was withdrawn in the light of the judgment of June 28, 2019, passed by the Election Tribunal, Balochistan in the election petition titled Tariq Mehmood Vs. Returning Officer and others.
The commission also directed for re-polling on July 15 in 29 polling stations of the NA-259 constituency. The ECP appointed Regional Election Commissioner Sibi Imran Ahmed as district returning officer, District Election Commissioner Sibi Nadeem Asghar Palal as returning officer, and Tehsildar Dera Bugti and Tehsildar Phellawagh as assistant returning officers to supervise the re polling.app
Election 2018: Three security personnel killed in Balochistan
DASHTUK (Balochistan): Four people including three Security Forces personnel were killed when a military protection party, escorting the polling staff was targeted near Pak-Iran border.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the incident took place when the military protection party while escorting polling staff of NA-271 from Buleda, Balochistan was ambushed here near Pak-Iran border last night.
The convoy was ambushed near Zaman Mountain Range to disrupt polling process. Security Forces foiled this attempt and ensured the move of polling staff to the designated place.
During the exchange of fire three Security Forces personnel – Sepoy Imran aged 21 years from Dera Bugti, Sepoy Jahanzeb aged 25 years from Chakwal, Sepoy Akmal aged 23 years from Haripur and a polling staff school teacher Safi Ullah embraced martyrdom, while 14 other people including 10 Security Forces personnel and four civilians were injured.
The 10 seriously injured have been evacuated to Karachi, while four who sustained minor injuries evacuated to DHQ Turbat. Polling took place at the said station as planned.
