Road at Ayub Bridge Balakot blocked for maintenance

MANSEHRA: Historical Ayub Bridge at river Kunhar Balakot on Thursday blocked for all sorts of vehicular traffic as maintenance work was launched on the bridge.

Owing to the transportation of heavy machinery for Sukki Kinari dam and other projects from Ayub Bridge, a pillar slipped and the bridge was unable to sustain load or to be used for traffic. The blockage practically disconnected Kaghan, Naran and Babusar Top with rest of the country.

District administration has directed the tourists and locals to use alternative Hassa Shawal bridge. Ayub bridge was situated at Kaghan highway where owing to the construction work on Sukki Kinari dam and the start of tourist season hundreds of loaded trucks, dumpers, local transport and tourists vehicle were passing every day.

Ayub bridge is also the only source of communication for five union councils of Balakot to rest of the country. The historical bridge was constructed by the then President Ayub Khan for the promotion of tourism in Kaghan and Naran.

Doctors in Hazara transferred to native districts

ABBOTTABAD: Several doctors of Hazara division have been transferred to their native districts following the new domicile policy of the provincial government.

According to the details, several doctors of TB hospitals of district Manshera has been sent to their native areas, Dr. Mahboob Shah has been transferred from D type Baffa Hospital to THQ Pattan Kohistan, Dr. Sameera Nisar from Mansehra to Dargai Malakand.

Dr. Muhammad Saleem has been transferred from Ayub Teaching Hospital to Koza Banda, Dr Sherzada from Ayub Medical College (AMC) Abbottabad to Banna Alai, Dr Jamshed Alam from AMC to District Health Office Torghar, Dr Basheer-ud-Din from District Headquarters hospital Abbottabad to Pattan Lower Kohistan and Dr Sameera Nisar from King Abdullah Hospital Mansehra to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Dargai Malakand.

Police constable who acquired a PhD

PESHAWAR: IGP  of KPK Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan today said that highly qualified & talented jawans would be encouraged so as to enable them to bring more laurels for the country as well as for the police force.
This he stated while giving an award to constable Dr. Muhammad Tahir of FSL here at CPO Peshawar.
It merits mention here that police constable Muhammad Tahir is a Ph.D. scholar in Bioinformatics. He has also written a book namely Forensic Serology as well as has drafted Standing Operating Procedure in serology for Forensic Science Laboratory.
He has recently completed his Research from Shanghai Zioteng University, which is one of the best in China. He has also contributed different Research papers in Biology as well as fully abreast himself from modern Forensic Research.
The IGP held in high esteem the educational services of constable Dr. Muhammad Tahir and termed him a precious asset of the police force who added another feather in the rich cap of the force through best research work.
The IGP informed that the hidden capabilities of Dr. Muhammad Tahir would be fully utilized and he would be provided every opportunity to contribute to the police force.
The IGP hoped that constable Dr. Muhammad Tahir would keep continuing his best services in the field of research in future too and will thus bring more success for the force.
The IGP awarded constable Dr. Muhammad Tahir with a cash prize of Rs. 10000 for his meritorious services in the field of education.
