ISLAMABAD: National Command Center’s first meeting was held here today to ponder over national response against the menace of Coronavirus pandemic.
Planning Minister Asad Umer while briefing the Media about the decisions taken informed that Rs. 50 billion had been being allocated for Utility Stores Cooperation to ensure provision of all food items all over Pakistan.
He further told that thirty-two Corona Testing Laboratories will perform across Pakistan where 900,000 tests will be performed till mid of April, 2020.
Asad Umer told that those hospitals treating COVID-19 patients will be provided testing kits by the government. Minister ensured that personal protective equipment will be provided to all medical staff working in hospitals.
Economic Affairs Minister Hammad Azhar rejecting the insinuations about shortage of flour in Pakistan, told that Rs. 280 billion had been allocated to purchase wheat under PM Stimulus Package. He said the government will handle the hoarders strictly.
PM’s Special Assistant for Health Dr Zafar Mirza warned that the government will take strict action against those involved in maltreating those who tested positive for COVID-19.
