Rs. 25b land scam: CM Sindh gets Secretary Land Utilization arrested

KARACHI: Taking notice of Media Report regarding his involvement in land scam to the tune of Rs. 25 billion, Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has got Secretary Land utilization Danish Saeed arrested, case has been registered against him.  

NPTV has earlier reported that Secretary Land Utilization Danish Saeed, (former secretary Shareef Baloch and others with involvement of a builder) had issued back-dated challans of 320 acres land on Hawks Bay in lieu of the terrain adjacent to the Bahria Town located on Main Super Highway.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah the Anti-Corruption Department has earlier raided the Board of Revenue office and taken the relevant records in custody.

Initial investigations had revealed that Secretary Land Utilization had not only issued back-dated challans for the aforementioned 320 acres of land but also other tracts of lands worth billions of rupees.

Anti-Corruption Police in its primary report maintained that Secretary Land Utilization Danish Saeed had issued challans of Rs. 6 crores and 91 lakhs for land worth Rs. 5 billion. Some 15 challans of such land had been issued without permission from the concerned authorities.

Anti-Corruption Department having sent  the summary to the Chief Minister Sindh (via Minister Anti-Corruption Sohail Anwar Sayal and Chief Secretary Sindh Mumtaz Ali Shah,) had sought the permission to register case against them and arrest  Secretary Land Utilization Danish Saeed, Former secretary Sharif Baloch, Section Officer Laiq Ali, Mir Adam Jokhio, Usman and Shafique.

Chief Minister Sindh, learning about the scam had immediately suspended Secretary Land Utilization Danish Sohail, Director Malir Development Authority Sohail Khan and others.
