PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali Khan Tuesday said the rupee’s depreciation would directly affect the public, especially the salaried and poor people.
The ANP leader, in a statement here, he said the hike dollar rate caused due to what he claimed the government’s decision to take a loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) would increase the burden of foreign loans. The country’s economy would again come into the influence of IMF and World Bank, he alleged.
Asfandyar urged the government to bring the prices of commonly used items at the level of two months ago. Increase in the prices of gas, electricity, and patrol would ultimately increase the prices of other items, he added.
