Russia is a deadly country for journalists

St. PETERSBURG: Russian Radio, TV & Print journalist Dmitry Tsilikin 54, renowned for his culture and art reporting was found stabbed to death here late Thursday evening in his apartment.

Police is investigating possible homicide because slain journalist’s mobile and computer were missing.

Russia is reckoned as one of the deadliest countries in the world for journalists: since 1992 thirty-six journalists have been killed here.

For press freedom Russia ranks 180 out of 199 countries for lagging behind Iraq and Sudan.
