Saddar building collapse injures 10

KARACHI: A building collapse in Karachi’s Saddar area sent bricks and debris raining down onto the road and injured at least ten persons on Wednesday morning.

It’s not clear what caused the collapse on the top floor of the building located near Saddar’s Mobile Market on Abdullah Haroon Road.

However, some shopkeepers’ said that the building was constructed upon a nullah and that could be the cause of its collapse.

Vehicles parked nearby were also damaged and three mobile shops were completely destroyed due to the collapse of the building.

Rescue teams arrived at the scene and started carrying out relief activities. The injured have been taken to the nearby hospital.

The road has currently been blocked for traffic.
