K2: Sajid Sadpara preserves bodies of 3 fallen climbers to a safe place (C4) (Video and Text)

GILGIT: Sajid Ali Sadpara (who was accompanied by Canadian filmmaker Elia Saikaly & Nepal’s Pasang Kaji Sherpa), maintaining that instant retrieval of bodies of his father Muhammad Ali Sadpara  and  his two associates from above bottleneck was not possible sans risking many lives, had informed by means of Twitter that they had secured and preserved the bodies of three fallen climbers to a safe place: “Possibilities of retrieving bodies without further damages and without risking lives would be done…later”, he added. 

“I have secured body of our hero at C-4. An Argentinian climber has been a great help in bringing body above bottleneck till C-4. I offered Fatih(a) & recited Holy Quran on behalf of whole nation”, he wrote.

Earlier, team Ali Sadpara Tweeted: “According to updates from Sajid Sadpara, bodies of 3 climbers have been found in and around the bottleneck. More details for recovery and possibility of retrieval of the bodies will follow”.

Meanwhile, Sajid (who had summited K2 at the age of 20 in 2019) has summited K2 on 28th day of July, 2021 for the second time. Elia Saikaly and Pasang Kaji Sherpa were with him in this journey as teammates.

Alpine Club of Pakistan had earlier confirmed that the bodies of celebrated Pakistani mountaineer Muhammad Ali Sadpara, Icelandic mountaineer John Snorri Sigurjónsson and Chilien climber Juan Pablo Mohr Prieto, were located on K2, five months after their disappearance.

According to details at 11am Sunday 26th of July, 2021, Nepalese Sherpas found the body of Juan Pablo Mohr Prieto 400 metres above Camp 4; Muhammad Ali Sadpara’s remains were located 300m away from the Bottleneck; while John Snorri Sigurjónsson’s body was spotted 100 meters away.

If and when the bodies, that were identified by the color of attire, are brought down Snorri’s body would be taken to Iceland while Mohr’s remains mortal would be sent to Chile. It may be recalled that Muha,,ad Ali Sadpara, along with his 21-year-old son Sajid joined Juan Pablo Mohr Prieto to ascent K2 and departed from the highest camp on 4th Feb., 2021.
