CALIFORNIA: South Korean smartphone giant Samsung remained top-selling smartphone brand worldwide in the first quarter of the year, a new report confirmed on Wednesday.
According to the report, the cell phone company sold the most number of smartphones and is expected to sell 320 million smartphones by the end of the year.
During the present year, Samsung’s sell touched the peak of the smartphone market by the strong sales growth of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. The company secured the first position by selling 81.5 million smartphones, while Apple remained on second with 51.6 million smartphones in the first quarter.
On the other side, some of the top brands like Sony, Microsoft, and Coolpad dropped out this year.
Lenovo also lost its 4th position and dropped to ninth place this year, selling only 10.9 million smartphones in the first quarter of 2016.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5 device has also topped the 2016 American Consumer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) poll.
