KARACHI: As expected by the economists, SBP has slashed the benchmark policy rate to 15% from 17.5% here on Monday (4th November, 2024).

SBP stated: “At its meeting today, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decided to cut the policy rate by 250 basis points to 15 per cent, effective from November 5, 2024.”

It is pertinent to mention here, the key interest rate was 22% that was brought down in three consecutive policy meetings over the months.
