SC commences hearing cases via E-Court System!

ISLAMABAD: A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Asif Saeed Khosa is hearing cases here today through the application of latest video link connectivity.

Utilizing the system, lawyers presented their arguments from the Karachi registry through a video link. In the early stages, the e-court system will be available in apex court’s Islamabad and Karachi registry.

CJ, in his remarks on the occasion,  maintained that the E-court system was an important step saying towards ensuring inexpensive and speedy justice to the people. CJ also lauded the efforts of NADRA for developing E-Court System.

Pakistan-EU sign Strategic Engagement Plan

BRUSSELS: Strategic Engagement Plan (SEP), meant to boost bilateral terms, has been signed here today by Pakistan and EU. 

Pak FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi and EU High Rep. Federica Mogherini while addressing a Press Conference maintained that SEP was a long-term resolve to boost cooperation. It is pertinent to mention here that this framework includes understanding to promote mutual peace and prosperity, trade and investment, migrant issues, sustainable development, energy, education, and culture.

FM Qureshi told that Pakistan and EU would also benefit from each other’s experience apropos cybersecurity and money laundering. He was optimistic about new prospects in knowledge exchange, people to people contacts, development projects, and good governance. Commenting on Re-Admission Agreement Qureshi said that Pakistan and EU were committed to close cooperation under this banner. 

Foreign Minister said Pakistan and the European Union would work to further expand and solidify trade and investment relations under the umbrella of SEP. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan’s foreign policy depended in the relation between peace and development.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan supported former army ruler General (Retired) Pervaiz Musharraf in past.

Speaking to the media here, Bilawal said: “General (Retd.) Pervaiz Musharraf was a puppet of foreign powers. Our beloved PM [Imran Khan] was Pervaiz Musharraf’s polling agent during the time of Referendum.”

To a question about National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), Bilawal said: “The PPP has been an ideological party and it’s leader Benazir Bhutto was not one to bow down against foreign masters.”

Iran says US sanctions rupture path to diplomacy

TEHRAN: US sanctions against Iranian leaders represent the “permanent closure” of the path to diplomacy with Washington, Iran’s foreign ministry said on Tuesday.

“Imposing fruitless sanctions against Iran’s supreme leader (Ayatollah Ali Khamenei) and the commander of Iran’s diplomacy (Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif) is the permanent closure of the path to diplomacy with Trump’s desperate government,” ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said in a tweet.
