SC to start E-Court system from Monday

ISLAMABAD: For the first time, Supreme Court of Pakistan is starting E-Court system from Monday.

The launch of the electronic system is first of its kind in the judicial history of Pakistan that courts will be connected through application of latest video-link connectivity.

The system will benefit the lawyers as well as litigants and make the judicial system more responsive to the needs of the people approaching courts for redressal of their grievances.

As per details, initially, this facility is being started at the Principal Seat, Islamabad and the Supreme Court Branch Registry, Karachi.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa will start hearing of cases through this facility from Monday.

E-Court facility will provide an effective and efficient platform which will discourage adjournments, encourage legal fraternity to plead their cases without any delay and at the same time provide convenience to the advocates to pursue their cases in other courts in the city where the branch registry is situated.

Opposition protest non-issuance of production order of Zardari

PESHAWAR: The opposition parties including Pakistan People Party’s lawmakers here Tuesday staged protest in Khyber Pakthunkhwa Assembly against non-issuance of production order of Asif Ali Zardari.

The opposition lawmakers gathered in front of the speaker’s dice and chanted slogans against non- issuance of production order of former President Asif Ali Zardari who was in NAB custody due to fake account case.

Finance Minister Khyber Pakthunkhwa, Taimour Salim Khan Jhagra continued presentation of the present PTI led Government first budget for financial year 2019-20 aimed opposition’s uproar.

The opposition lawmakers including PPP’s MPA Nighat Orakzai and others demanded from Speaker National Assembly to issue production order of Asif Zardari.

PM Imran likely to visit US in upcoming month

LAHORE: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Naeemul Haque has unveiled that PM Imran Khan is likely to pay a visit to the United States in next one to two months.

Addressing a press conference here, SAPM said that the premier has decided to stay at the ambassador’s home during his US visit in order to set an example of austerity for avoiding hefty expenditures while staying at hotels there.

The special assistant also confirmed that the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, is visiting Pakistan next week and he will announce $20 billion investment during his upcoming visit.

“The nation will visit revolutionary changes in the next few months which would transform Pakistan into one of the best states of the world.”

Punjab Govt presented exemplary, people-friendly budget 2019-20

SARGODHA: Provincial Minister for Human Resources and Development Ansar Majeed Niazi said the Punjab Government presented exemplary and people-friendly budget 2019-20 which reflects people’s hopes and expectation.

Talking to newsmen on Tuesday the Provincial Minister said that the chief minister Punjab rightly deserved praise for presenting people- friendly budget,adding that a new era of progress and prosperity for the people of Punjab would begin.

Ansar Majeed Niazi said that Punjab government has won the farmer’s hearts by giving relief worth Rs. 123 billion in agricultural, poultry and dairy sectors,adding the government has also waived off income tax on Rs. 4,00,000 Agri-income and water tax on 12 Acre lands.

The minister said that farmers would also take advantage of the rebate in dairy products, agricultural machineries and fertilizers.

He said that Punjab government has accorded priority to agriculture, health, energy and education sector, adding that by starting mega development projects people would get a large number of job opportunities.

He further said that PTI led government could not be pressurized by negative tactics of the opposition parties,adding that corrupt elements would not be forgiven at any cost.
