Shadow Justice Minister Imran Hussain says Tory Govt. hitting the poor!

LONDON: British Shadow Justice Minister Barrister Imran Hussain MP, termed the Yorkshire Evening Post report about the Tory Govt. policies published yesterday as appalling.

He held: “… it is sadly what ideologically imposed austerity is doing to our children, and like any policy of this Tory Government, it is hitting those that are the poorest the hardest.

“It’s also a problem that is not exclusive to Leeds alone, as the same problems are felt in Bradford and across the whole of the North.

“We need to see an end to ideologically motivated cuts by a Government more interested in shrinking budgets and the state than looking after the most vulnerable in society, and a return to real investment in our children and their futures.”

Relevant: Commenting on the result for Labour in Bradford East, Barrister Imran Hussain held: “A strong result for Labour in Bradford East at yesterday’s local elections with a brilliant Labour gain from the Liberal Democrats. We also saw some fantastic wins right across the District, so a big congratulations to all our new and returning Labour Councillors, as well as a huge thank you to the volunteers and activists who helped to make it possible. The people of Bradford have spoken, and they have made it clear that they will not support the cruel austerity cuts that have been hurting our City, nor the political parties that helped inflict it upon us.”
