LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said on Wednesday said that he is here to demand justice for Model Town Lahore tragedy.
He was talking to the media persons at the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore early morning.
He was received by a large crowd of his supporters gathered to give him a warm welcome upon his arrival.
Speaking on the occasion, PAT chairman said that his party will hold a sit-in in front of Punjab Assembly on June 17 to demand justice for Model Town tragedy.
Qadri also called upon the Army Chief to take action and launch an investigation regarding the incident.
Criticising the government and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Qadri said that the government has neither direction nor policy.
“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif does not even know how to deal with his party,” he said adding that PM is no more able to take any decision himself.
Qadri went on to say that Sharif brothers and PML-N led government is responsible for the Model Town tragedy.
Earlier on June 17, 2014, tensions between PAT workers and Punjab police increased as they engaged in the violent action against each other. Many PAT workers were killed in the clash.
