Sharjah mishap claims lives of three students from India: Police

SHARJAH: Three Indian students have been killed while two sustained injuries in an accident near Al Madam in Sharjah, sources said Saturday.

Ashmid Ashraf, Shifam Mustafa and Mohammad Sunoon were student at Middlesex university Dubai. All three belong to South Indian state of Kerala.

According to police, they were five in the car returning after visiting a friend in Al Madam when their car was hit by another vehicle, killing three of them. The other two have sustained injuries.

“Bodies and injured have been shifted to the hospital,” said the police.

Ashmid’s father Ashraf who runs a restaurant in Dubai along with his wife Hajara and their five other children were on vacation in Kerala. Ashmid had returned to Sharjah a week ago for his exams.

Ashmid and Mohammed are from Kozhikode and Shifam from Kannur.
