KARACHI: A day after Sindh Cabinet approved the decision to remove Inspector General of Sindh police (IGP) from his post and appoint Sardar Abdul Majeed Dasti as new police chief, the Sindh High Court extended its stay on the removal process.

The SHC also asked for a copy of the decision made in this regard by the Sindh Cabinet.

The Sindh High Court had earlier this week suspended a notification issued by the Sindh government on April 1 for Khawaja’s removal.

‘If he is such a good IG, appoint him in Punjab’

Meanwhile, former advisor to the Chief Minister Sindh and senior PPP leader Maula Bukhsh Chandio said that the federal government should appoint A.D. Khawaja if it likes him that much.

“If he (Khawaja) is so good, then appoint him in Punjab, and end this issue,” he suggested and also questioned why the entire federal government had backed Khawaja.
