LAHORE: President PML-N Mian Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the arrest of former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi sans Arrest Warrant accusing PTI-Govt. of teaming-up with NAB in order to victimize political opponents.
“If there is accountability, where is it? This is the worst revenge against the PML-N in the garb of accountability,” Shehbaz Sharif maintained. He said that most of the people held by NAB belonged to PML-N.

Deciphering his accusation apropos arrest of without arrest warrant he held: “Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was arrested in a crude manner; when he asked for warrants, the NAB officials just stared at each others’ faces…NAB DG came himself and showed a WhatsApp message. When Khaqan asked for a warrant signed by the NAB chairman, then they got a photocopy.”
He said that it was thanks to LNG imports that the menace of gas load shedding was contained by former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi under the leadership of then PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif.
Maintaining that Imran Khan government that had destroyed the economy in eleven months was attempting to distract the nation from the dismal performance. He pointed towards augmentation of the prices of bread and non-availability of medicines. He claimed that on the contrary PML-N government had made sure that the prices of medicine and commodities were not increased.
Rubbishing the piece published by Mail On Sunday accusing him and his family of usurping the money meant by the people of Britain for the affectees of earth quake here he pointed out that the earthquake took place in 2005 while he became CM three years later in 2008. ISLAMABAD: NAB has nabbed former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at Thokar Niaz Beg interchange today in a multi-billion-rupee case about award of a LNG import contract.
According to sources he was summoned by NAB four times but he failed to appear before the bureau. He is accused of “deceitfully, fraudulently and dishonestly causing a loss to the national exchequer, misuse of authority, and obtaining pecuniary advantage through corrupt, dishonest and illegal means during the award of LNG Terminal-1.”

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemning the arrest of former PM, stated that their their morals would not be damped by such tactics.
It has further been learned that NAB chief has also signed the arrest warrant of former finance minister Miftah Ismail, in the same case. His name was earlier placed on the ECL.
