ISLAMABAD: CJ of IHC Justice Aamer Farooq, while hearing Zong’s petition on Tuesday (14th May, 2024), has issued a stay order till 27th May barring FBR from blocking the SIMs of Non-Filers.

Maintaining that: “The government cannot get the power to block people’s mobile phone SIMs by amending the law”, Salman Akram Raja informed that blocking of half a million SIMs would translate into loss of Rs. 1 billion per annum.
The respondents have been asked to file their statements by 27th of May, 2024.
