Why singing for Beauty and the Beast was hard for Céline Dion?

LOS ANGELES: While crooning How Does A Moment Last Forever for Beauty and the Beast, 48-year-old Céline Dion thought of her late spouse René Angélil.

Since the couple mutually decided for her first Beauty and the Beast, she found it difficult to do it all alone: “I couldn’t say yes right away, because I felt like I was kind of cheating in a way”.

She was referring to 1991 duet she sang with Peabo Bryson for the animated Disney feature. 

One may recall that the singer was just 12 when she first met music manager René, 26, and made him her mentor and manager.

When Celine turned 19, they got engaged and took the plunge on 17 December 1994.

In 1999, her husband was diagnosed with throat cancer. He died in the month of January last year.
