SNGPL disconnects 675 illegal connections

PESHAWAR: The Task Force of Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) in grand operation against illegal consumers during the last two weeks disconnected 675 illegal connections and 116 tempered meters.

The spokesperson on Sunday said that on the directives of General Manager SNGPL KP Arbab Saqib, the Task Force in collaboration with district administration of Peshawar, Charsadda, Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Tank and DI Khan launched grand operation against illegal consumers and disconnected connection of six illegal power generating units including hotels and bakers while removing 315 other illegal connections and 61 tempered meters were disconnected during crackdown.

The authorities have lodged FIRs against some illegal consumers. The Task Force disconnected 360 illegal connections and 55 tempered meters in Landi Arbab, Uchar Kale, Akhon Ahmad, Bahadar Kale, Achini, Sarband and Urmar area of Peshawar.  The SNGPL warned its consumers that action would be taken against those who violate the government rules and using illegal connections.
