Specter of Faizabad Sit-in: Interior Minister says Govt. ordered crackdown to avoid sectarian clashes!

ISLAMABAD: Ahsan Iqbal, the Interior Minister, has claimed here today that the sit-in at Faizabad Interchange was a conspiracy to augment sectarian conflict using the issue of Khatm-e-Nabuyyat.

The Minister, maintaining that we must steer clear of such clash, held that there was no ambiguity in the Constitution as far as the oath was concerned apropos the issue of Khatm-e-Nabuyyat.

Stressing that the civil/military authorities had managed to contain the state-of-affairs, Ahsan Iqbal claimed that the protesters were heavily armed.
