ISLAMABAD: Balochistan has planned to establish sports ground in each tehsil of the province to promote healthy activities and encouraging the youth to take part in sports.
Talking to APP, an official of Balochistan Sports Board today said that the provincial government had allocated special funds for the establishing ground in each tehsil of the province. He said the government had to engage the youth in sports activities to create a healthy and good environment in the province, adding “We are working to launch a maximum number of jobs in the field of sports”.
The official informed that the construction of sports ground in many districts of the province was under process, adding that they were preparing for huge sports-related activities in connection with the celebration of Sibi festival in February this year. He said that youth of Balochistan had immense talent to set up the best football players to compete on national and international level.
The government would create more opportunities and privilege to the young sportsmen to represent the country, he added. Jaffar Khan, a sportsman, said that even without world-class sports academy and coaching center, the province had the honor to produce top classic players who brought laurels to the country.
He said playgrounds in Balochistan were deserted due to lack of maintenance for which sufficient financial funding was required. Terming shortage of sports grounds as the main hurdle, he said, had this issue addressed in the past it would have encouraged the youngsters more towards the healthy activities.  He also urged the government to establish at least one ground for females so that they could take part in extra-curricular activities.
