Sr. Journalist Khalil Jibran’s murder condemned by PFUJ

KARACHI: G.M. Jamali, President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and General Secretary Rana Muhammad Azeem have strongly condemned the murder of Senior Journalist Khalil Jibran (associated with Khyber News) near his house at Landi Kotal town of KP by unidentified gunmen during Eid-ul-Adha Holidays.

According to sources, Khalil Jibran’s vehicle developed some fault while he was driving towards his house alongwith a lawyer (identified as Sajjad), when the miscreants riding a motorcycle attacked them. Jibran, former president of Landi Kotal Press Club, died on the spot while his co-voyager got injured. The slain journalist has been buried in his native village Sultan Khel, after autopsy.

Meanwhile, on the complaint of eyewitness Sajjad Advocate a FIR has been registered – that also harbors provisions of terrorism – at Landi Kotal PS against the unknown culprits. G M Jamali and Rana Azeem have demanded the Provincial Police to immediately arrest the killers of Khalil Jibran and the Provincial Government to provide compensation to the murdered journalist’s family.
