PRAYAGRAJ (Allahabad): Thirty people were crushed to death, 60 got gravely wounded due to a stampede here at (the ongoing 45-day) Hindu Festival on Wednesday (29th Jan, 2025).
The devout Hindus believe that a dip at the the Sangam (confluence) of Ganga and Jamna will cleanse all the sins.
Forty Crore (400 million) pilgrims and tourists are visiting from all over the globe at (the 45-day Hindu Festival) Kumbh Mela, held once in 12 years. Interestingly, size of the congregation is big enough to be seen from space.
