I support democracy not Nawaz, says Zardari

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that he has always supported democracy as he wanted Pakistan to prosper under the democratic government.

Zardari, who was addressing a press conference along with his son Bilawal, said that he never wanted to save Nawaz.

“There’s no political future of Nawaz Sharif and his family now. He never benefitted the country,” said Zardari.

Asked whether he will support NS in the next elections, Zardari’s response was in negative.

“I don’t think Nawaz will come into power again. People of Pakistan know his intentions,” said the former president.

Earlier on Tuesday, Zardari had said that he has no interest in establishing contact with ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif

The PPP leader also said that he was not ready to become part of a “Grand National Dialogue” proposed recently by Nawaz Sharif.
