HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad police have arrested a suspected in injured condition after an exchange of fire near Liaquat Bridge area here Sunday evening.

The police spokesman Mazharul Haq alias Shani informed that the police signaled 2 suspects riding a motorbike to stop at a snap checking spot but they tried to escape and opened fire on the police.

One of the suspects sustained a gunshot to his right leg in the exchange of fire by the police and fell over the road while the other suspect escaped.

The spokesman identified the arrested suspect as Ghulam Rehman Khan Yousufzai who was shifted to Liaquat University Hospital for surgery.

He said the police recovered a 30-bore pistol from possession of Yousufzai, who was a resident of Labour Colony area.
