T20 World Cup : India beats Afghanistan

ABU DHABI: India, while batting first managed to score 210/2 – highest total of the current T20 World Cup – with the support of Sharma’s 74 and Rahul’s 69 crushing Afghanistan 11 by 66 runs in a must win match of the Super 12 match played here on Wednesday 3rd of November, 2021. 

Indian Mohammad Shami dismissed Mohammad Shahzad (who was dismissed sans any run)  and Jasprit Bumrah removed Hazratullah Zazai (whose bat yielded thirteen runs). Then with the help of two boundaries and one six Rahmanullah Gurbaz made nineteen runs off ten balls.

He was caught in the deep by Hardik Pandya. Gulbadin Naib was sent back by spinner Ravichandran Ashwin with a LBW. Ashwin also took the scalp of Najib yielding 11 runs off 13 balls. Though Karim Janat struggled and faced 22 balls to make 42 runs, a mountain of 210 runs was too much for Afghans.
