ISLAMABAD: Many areas in northern part of country were left without electricity when Tarbela and Mangla power houses tripped on Friday, said a spokesman for WAPDA.
Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) said that the sudden breakdown of electricity took place due to unidentified technical fault in both power houses.
“WAPDA engineers are working for earliest resolution of problem to restore electricity supply to all affected areas,” the spokesman added.
While the two major power houses of country remain tripped the affected areas of country are being supplied electricity through alternative sources. It will take at least 15 hours to run all the units of the two powerhouses at full capacity once again, he said.
