Tent-Pegging Legend Prince Malik Ata passes away

ISLAMABAD: FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi has taken to the Twitter to express grief over the demise of Malik Ata Muhammad (on Thursday 6th of Feb. 2020) who had devoted his life to keep the tradition of horse-riding and tent-pegging alive.

Malik Ata Muhammad Khan (Prince Malik Ata) was one of the best known tent-peggers in Pakistan.

Former politician Ata Khan, who was born on 25th of October, 1941, was also the chief of Kot Fateh Khan in Attock District and had served as MPA between 1990 and 1993.

As president of Equestrian and Tent Pegging Association of Pakistan he promoted races and tent pegging. He was one of the founding members of International Tent Pegging Federation and served as its vice-president and executive committee member for several years.

Malik Ata Muhammad Khan won numerous awards in tent pegging competitions held in Pakistan, India, South Africa, Australia, US and other countries.
