KARACHI: Pakistan batsman Younis Khan has hinted at reconsidering retirement decision if the team and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) want him to play for the country.

“If Pakistan needs me, I can rethink on my retirement decision but in my view, best time to retire is when the people want you to play more,” he said in an interview.

“I think the right time to retire is when people want you to stay, not when they are thinking your time is up. So I think it is a good time for me retire,” the cricketer added.

Younis Khan had announced to retire from international cricket two weeks ago after West Indies series.

When asked what if he would like to continue, he said ‘yeah, I will think about it’, ‘It all depends on if my team needs me.

“If they [PCB] request me or people want me then why not? But it all depends on my team.”

Before the West Indies tour, veteran players Younis Khan and Misbahul Haq announced retirement from international cricket saying that the series will be their last.
