LONDON: With the stepping down of PM Theresa May as Conservative Party leader today, the race for a successor has formally commenced.
May will remain the leader until a new PM is chosen who will attempt to deliver Brexit that is still scheduled for 31st of Oct (2019).
It is pertinent to mention here that May, who took office after the 2016 referendum vote to leave the EU, had spent three years unsuccessfully trying to figure out means to deliver.
