Tribal chief nabbed for patronizing dacoits who killed 3 cops in Shikarpur!

KARACHI: Shikarpur Police, in collaboration with the Port City cops, nabbed Tribal Chief Sardar Tegho Khan Teghani along with his sons Imran and Abdul Fatah, on Monday 24th of May from Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of the Metropolis on the charges of patronizing dacoits engaged in enlèvement in the katcha area of Shikarpur district.

The development came following 23rd May killing of two cops, a private guard of a Station House Officer and a private cameraman engaged by police during an anti-dacoit operation in Shikarpur.  Police, that invaded the bandits’ hideouts using Armored Personnel Carrier, had claimed to have gunned six dacoits/kidnappers dead.  The arrests were made after a First Information Report was lodged at Napur Kot police station in Shikarpur against nominated kidnappers on charges of terrorism and murder of three police personnel.

According to details, the dacoits had kidnapped eight people few days ago and kept them in the Kutcha area of Garhi Tegho. Sources revealed that the bandits had released four of the kidnapped (probably against receipt of ransom money) on the night of Saturday 22nd of May.  During the Sunday 23rd May operation to rescue kidnapped persons, dacoits resorted to use anti-aircraft guns at the APC from close range killing four people riding the vehicle, including three cops. Later the dacoits captured the damaged APC and posted video featuring the booty on Social Media terming it their victory against Police.

Sources have further revealed that Tribal Chief Sardar Tegho Khan Teghani and sons were arrested on the basis of FIR that had been lodged on behalf of the state via Inspector Syed Amir Ali Shah against kidnappers on charges of terrorism and killing of three cops. The Tribal Chief has been accused of patronizing kidnappers in Garhi Tegho. Meanwhile, the Sindh Govt. has given a green light for continuing the operation along with the collaboration with  Para Military.
