Tropical cyclone Shaheen enters the Omani Coast claiming several lives

OMAN: Tropical Cyclone Shaheen entered the Omani Coast claiming several lives on Sunday (3rd of October, 2021).

According to Oman’s hazard, weather and civil aviation agencies the eye of the storm was carrying winds of 120km. Hence the residents had been advised to move away from coastal areas.

 

According to details nine people lost their lives in Oman and Iran due to Cyclone Shaheen. In Oman schools will remain closed for a couple of days. Iranian news agency IRNA has informed that the cyclone had damaged the electrical facilities and roads etc. In order to avoid any mishap a number of flights from Muscat Int’l Airport were suspended. Meanwhile, the UAE was also on high alert.
